Venue:  The Mill Retreat Centre, Southern Normandy, France.  This is a beautiful 17th Century farm house located in a spectacular setting in over 30 acres of grounds. The location includes a 10 acre lake with a stunning wetlands habitat and over a mile of riverbanks, perfect for relaxing walks and wildlife spotting.  A huge entrance hall with open fire-place welcomes you on arrival; a stunningly large workshop space in the attic with wooden floor for your Yoga and Meditation.  An outdoor, covered terrace overlooking the lake for outside dining and many more  areas of natural beauty.

  • All yoga classes, workshops and meditation
  • Full board at the Mill Retreat Centre (from Thursday 10th dinner to Sun 13th (three day’s lunch is included)

Typical day:
Morning: Yoga & Meditation (2hr) - breakfast - interactive workshop (2hr) - lunch - plenty of free time - evening yoga & meditation(2hr) - dinner and socialising.

What to bring:
Light, loose clothing for yoga, some warm clothes, waterproof jacket and walking shoes. 
A mat and all Yoga props will be provided but please bring your own if you so wish.

What to expect during these three days?
We will combine and share different forms of Hatha Yoga, varied Meditation and interactive Pranic healing workshops.  With all these three aspect we will be gently exploring areas of resistance or blockage to bring a greater understanding of the Physical and Energy bodies.  This awareness, combined with the surroundings, will facilitate an effective release of tension in both mind and body to bring about a dramatic improvement and clarity in one’s practice and life in general.  You will feel a sense of personal harmony and a heightened state of self-awareness and personal creativity.

Our programme includes:

4 hours per day, variations upon Hath Yoga.  We will be using an energetic form of Hatha Yoga (yang form) and then a slower version (Yin form) to develop and extend your normal practice.  In all Yoga forms we will be using Prana to explore your physical resistance and mental attitude, all focusing on bringing harmony between these two realms. By understanding energy we can unblock and release it where locked up in the  Chakras, allowing for increased flexibility and strength both in your yoga poses and mind.  The aim will be to profoundly deepen our awareness and mindfulness.

Pranic Healing
Pranic healing is a very ancient art and science.  Working with Prana (the subtle life force energy or ‘chi’), we will initiate healing on physical, mental and emotional levels.  This interactive workshop will allow you to experience the Prana (energy) for yourselves and discover how your ‘energy body’ holds key information about your health.

Various techniques will be investigated first hand, with the aim to provide a unique holistic experience and to promote self-discovery.  We will be using different programmes and a variety of tools which will encourage a deep inner peace, bliss, self-healing and personal growth.

Pranayama (Breathing)
From simple techniques to achieve relaxation, to the more advance techniques, aiming to achieve an instant energy boost, we will work towards:- strengthening mental faculties, managing emotional turmoil, increasing inner-harmony and increasing physical energy.

Individual Coaching - (optional)
An opportunity is available for private one-to-one session with a specialist teacher.  This is specifically aimed at those who wish to experience a deeper level of experience, receiving guidance from a senior teacher who will tailor the work to your personal needs.  There is limited availability so please book early.

Free Time
Plenty of free time can be taken to unwind and relax in the tranquil, natural beauty of the house and its surroundings.  The Mill offers many opportunities to enjoy long walks for bird watching or just chilling out; there are ten acres of amazing grounds including a lake, riverside views and enticing woodland glades.  In the evening sit in front of the an enormous open fireplace with a book, or just socialise.
